What is CMI?

CMI (CodeMaster Items, by Zrips) is an all-in-one server management plugin that consolidates the work of many separate plugins — essentials-style commands, an economy, homes and warps, holograms, tab-list and scoreboard customisation, portals, custom join messages and far more — into one configurable package with well over 200 commands. Because it bundles so much, it can replace a stack of plugins and keep their features consistent, at the cost of a larger, more complex configuration. It registers a Vault economy and integrates with LuckPerms and PlaceholderAPI.

Who it's for: Owners who prefer one heavyweight plugin over a toolbox of small ones, and who want tab-list, holograms, economy and essentials features that share a single config and update together. Premium. It is built and maintained by Zrips and sits in the essentials category, and is a premium (paid) plugin.

How to install CMI

CMI runs on Spigot or Paper servers. Zrips actively maintains CMI for current Spigot and Paper versions, with rapid updates after each Minecraft release.

  1. 1Stop your server, or have it ready to restart. Always back up your world and plugins folder before adding a new plugin.
  2. 2Download CMI.jar (a build matching your server version) and place it in your server's /plugins folder.
  3. 3CMI has no required dependencies, so it runs on its own once the jar is in place.
  4. 4Start the server fully. CMI generates its configuration files on first launch — stop the server, edit them to taste, then start again.
  5. 5Confirm it loaded by checking the console for CMI on startup, or by running one of its commands in-game.

Note: Drop CMI (and its required CMILib library) into /plugins. CMI is a premium plugin, so you provide your licensed build. It generates an extensive set of config files; many modules can be toggled off in modules.yml so you only run the parts you use. Disable EssentialsX-style features in other plugins to avoid command clashes.

CMI commands and permissions

Main commands

/cmi tp
Teleports between players or to coordinates, part of CMI's teleport suite.
/cmi home
Teleports to a saved home; CMI's homes system can replace the Essentials equivalent.
/cmi kit
Claims a configured kit, with cooldowns and per-kit permissions.
/cmi money
Manages the built-in CMI economy balance, which is exposed through Vault.

Permission nodes

cmi.command.tp
Allows direct teleport commands; keep staff-only.
cmi.command.home
Allows using CMI's /home; home limits use cmi.homes.<amount>.

CMI FAQ

Can CMI replace EssentialsX?

Yes — CMI covers the same homes, warps, kits, teleport, economy and moderation ground and adds holograms, tab-list and scoreboard tools on top. Running both at once causes command conflicts, so pick one. Many large servers choose CMI specifically to consolidate plugins.

Is CMI free?

No, CMI is a paid premium plugin. You purchase a licence and download your build from the marketplace. There is a related free library, CMILib, that CMI requires, but the main plugin itself is premium.

Do I need CMILib?

Yes. CMILib is a required free dependency that provides shared functionality CMI relies on. Install it in /plugins alongside CMI or the plugin will not start correctly.

How do I turn off CMI features I do not want?

CMI is modular. Open modules.yml and set the modules you do not need to false, then reload. This trims memory use and removes commands you would otherwise have to manage, letting you run CMI as a lean essentials replacement or a full suite.

Does CMI work with LuckPerms and PlaceholderAPI?

Yes. CMI reads permissions through any permissions plugin including LuckPerms, registers PlaceholderAPI placeholders for its data, and provides a Vault economy. It is designed to slot into the standard plugin ecosystem rather than replace those integrations.
