Spartan AntiCheat
PremiumAnti-cheat with 30+ checks covering combat, movement and world interactions. Includes a cloud-based detection learning system.
What is Spartan AntiCheat?
Spartan AntiCheat (by Vagdedes) is a premium anti-cheat offering a broad set of checks — more than thirty across combat, movement and world-interaction categories — plus a cloud-assisted detection system that helps refine accuracy. It runs without ProtocolLib, supports Bedrock players (so cross-play servers can keep protection), and provides automatic punishment and configurable detection. As with any anti-cheat, it balances coverage against false positives and rewards tuning to your server's conditions. Its breadth of checks and ease of setup make it a long-standing commercial option for owners who want wide protection out of the box.
Who it's for: Survival and PvP servers wanting wide check coverage with relatively turnkey setup, including cross-play servers needing Bedrock-compatible protection. Premium. It is built and maintained by Vagdedes and sits in the anti-cheat category, and is a premium (paid) plugin.

How to install Spartan AntiCheat
Spartan AntiCheat runs on Spigot or Paper servers. Maintained for current Spigot/Paper versions; obtain licensed premium builds matched to your server version.
- 1Stop your server, or have it ready to restart. Always back up your world and plugins folder before adding a new plugin.
- 2Download SpartanAntiCheat.jar (a build matching your server version) and place it in your server's /plugins folder.
- 3Spartan AntiCheat has no required dependencies, so it runs on its own once the jar is in place.
- 4Start the server fully. Spartan AntiCheat generates its configuration files on first launch — stop the server, edit them to taste, then start again.
- 5Confirm it loaded by checking the console for Spartan AntiCheat on startup, or by running one of its commands in-game.
Note: Drop Spartan (your licensed build) into /plugins and restart to generate its configuration; it does not require ProtocolLib. Review the check list and punishment thresholds before going live, and make use of its Bedrock compatibility if you run Geyser so Bedrock players are covered without being falsely flagged for edition differences.

Spartan AntiCheat FAQ
How many checks does Spartan have?
Spartan ships with over thirty checks spread across combat, movement and world-interaction categories, each individually configurable. This breadth lets it catch a wide range of cheat types out of the box, though you should enable and tune the checks that fit your server's gameplay and latency.
Does Spartan support Bedrock players?
Yes. Spartan is built to be compatible with Bedrock players (via Geyser), so cross-play servers keep anti-cheat coverage. This matters because Bedrock movement and combat differ from Java, and an anti-cheat unaware of those differences would otherwise false-flag Bedrock players.
Does Spartan require ProtocolLib?
No. Spartan handles its own packet needs and does not depend on ProtocolLib, which simplifies installation. You install Spartan directly and configure it through its menu and config files.
What is the cloud system?
Spartan uses a cloud-assisted component to help improve detection accuracy over time. The core checks run locally on your server; the cloud aspect supports refining detections. Your anti-cheat decisions and punishments remain governed by your own configuration.
Is Spartan free?
No, Spartan is a premium anti-cheat purchased and downloaded as a licensed build. If you need a free alternative, Grim is a strong open-source option. Premium choices like Spartan compete on check breadth, cross-play support, setup simplicity and support.
