TAB
Tab list and scoreboard management plugin. Customize the player list header/footer, name tags, sorting and per-world tab lists.
What is TAB?
TAB is the standard plugin for customising the player list (the tab menu) and related on-screen text. It lets you set a custom header and footer above and below the player list, control name tags shown over players' heads, sort the list by rank or other criteria, manage scoreboard display, and run per-world tab lists. It reads live data through PlaceholderAPI, so the tab list can show ping, player counts, balances and ranks that update in real time. It supports proxies for network-wide tab lists. For servers that want a polished, branded look, TAB handles the tab list, name tags and scoreboard from one place.
Who it's for: Servers and networks wanting a customised, branded tab list, sorted player list, styled name tags and scoreboard — essentially any server that cares about presentation. It is built and maintained by NEZNAMY and sits in the chat category.

How to install TAB
TAB runs on Bukkit, Spigot, Paper or Velocity servers. NEZNAMY maintains TAB for current Spigot/Paper versions and Velocity, with frequent updates.
- 1Stop your server, or have it ready to restart. Always back up your world and plugins folder before adding a new plugin.
- 2Download TAB.jar (a build matching your server version) and place it in your server's /plugins folder.
- 3TAB has no required dependencies, so it runs on its own once the jar is in place.
- 4Start the server fully. TAB generates its configuration files on first launch — stop the server, edit them to taste, then start again.
- 5Confirm it loaded by checking the console for TAB on startup, or by running one of its commands in-game.
Note: Drop TAB into /plugins and restart; install PlaceholderAPI for dynamic placeholders in the header, footer, name tags and scoreboard. Configuration lives in its config files where you define the layout and sorting. For a network, TAB has proxy support so the tab list and sorting stay consistent across backend servers.
TAB commands and permissions

TAB FAQ
What can TAB customise?
TAB customises the player list (tab menu) header and footer, the name tags above players' heads, the ordering/sorting of players in the list, the scoreboard, and per-world tab content. It is the one plugin most servers use to brand and tidy all of that on-screen text from a single configuration.
Do I need PlaceholderAPI for TAB?
Not to run, but you almost certainly want it. PlaceholderAPI lets TAB show live data — ping, online count, rank prefix, balance — in the header, footer, name tags and scoreboard. Without it, those areas are limited to static text and TAB's own basic placeholders.
How do I sort the tab list by rank?
Configure TAB's sorting to order players by their permission group (and optionally further criteria), so higher ranks appear at the top of the list with the correct prefix. This is set in TAB's configuration; it reads group information to apply the ordering automatically as players join.
Can TAB customise name tags over players' heads?
Yes. TAB manages the name tags shown above players, letting you add prefixes/suffixes and colours and control their visibility. This is handled alongside the tab list so a player's rank styling is consistent in both the list and over their head.
Does TAB work across a network?
Yes. TAB has proxy support (including Velocity), so you can keep the tab list, sorting and name tag styling consistent across all backend servers behind the proxy. This gives a unified look network-wide rather than each backend configuring tab independently.
