What is Jobs Reborn?

Jobs Reborn (by Zrips) gives players occupations that pay them for doing related work. A player joins a job — miner, woodcutter, farmer, builder, hunter and more — and then earns money (and job XP that raises their job level) every time they perform an action that job rewards, such as breaking ore as a miner or planting crops as a farmer. Higher job levels increase pay and can unlock perks. It supports limited job slots, boosted-pay events, quests, leaderboards and fully custom jobs, and pays out through a Vault economy. It is a primary way to inject earned currency into a survival economy.

Who it's for: Survival and economy servers that want players to earn money through gameplay rather than only through shops or voting, giving every play-style a way to make a living. It is built and maintained by Zrips and sits in the economy category.

How to install Jobs Reborn

Jobs Reborn runs on Bukkit, Spigot or Paper servers. Zrips actively maintains Jobs Reborn for current Spigot/Paper versions.

  1. 1Stop your server, or have it ready to restart. Always back up your world and plugins folder before adding a new plugin.
  2. 2Download JobsReborn.jar (a build matching your server version) and place it in your server's /plugins folder.
  3. 3Jobs Reborn requires Vault — install that plugin first or Jobs Reborn will not start.
  4. 4Start the server fully. Jobs Reborn generates its configuration files on first launch — stop the server, edit them to taste, then start again.
  5. 5Confirm it loaded by checking the console for Jobs Reborn on startup, or by running one of its commands in-game.

Note: Jobs Reborn requires Vault and an economy plugin to pay wages. Drop the jar into /plugins and restart; it generates jobConfig.yml where every job's actions and payouts are defined and fully editable. Balance the payouts to your economy — over-generous jobs cause inflation — and decide how many jobs a player may hold at once.

Jobs Reborn FAQ

How do players earn money with Jobs Reborn?

They join a job with /jobs join <job>, then earn automatically whenever they perform that job's rewarded actions — a miner is paid for breaking ores, a farmer for harvesting crops, and so on. Each action also grants job XP, and higher job levels increase the payout.

Does Jobs Reborn need an economy plugin?

Yes. Wages are paid through Vault into an economy plugin's balances, so you must install Vault and an economy provider (EssentialsX, CMI). Without an economy there is nowhere for the earned money to go and the plugin cannot pay players.

Can players have more than one job?

Yes, up to a configurable limit. By default players can hold a few jobs at once, and you set the maximum in the config. Limiting job slots encourages specialisation and keeps players from earning from every activity simultaneously.

How do I stop jobs from causing inflation?

Tune the payout values in jobConfig.yml — every action's reward is editable. If players are earning too fast, lower the per-action pay or the high-level multipliers. Many servers also pair Jobs income with money sinks (shops, taxes, upkeep) to keep the economy balanced.

Can I create custom jobs?

Yes. Jobs are fully defined in configuration, so you can create entirely custom jobs with your own names, rewarded actions and payouts, or edit the default jobs. This lets you tailor occupations to your server's theme and economy rather than being limited to the presets.
