What is QuickShop Hikari?

QuickShop Hikari is a modern, maintained continuation of the QuickShop line that makes player shops about as simple as possible. A player left-clicks a chest to start a shop, sets a price, and the chest becomes a shop that displays the item floating above it; other players right-click to buy or sell. There is no sign syntax to memorise — the interaction drives everything — and money moves through a Vault economy. It supports buy and sell modes, a tax rate, unlimited shops, a find/search command and transaction history. Its ease of use and active maintenance make it a popular choice for survival markets.

Who it's for: Survival and economy servers wanting frictionless, visually-clear player shops with a click-to-create workflow and no sign formatting for players to get wrong. It is built and maintained by Ghost_chu and sits in the economy category.

How to install QuickShop Hikari

QuickShop Hikari runs on Spigot or Paper servers. Ghost_chu maintains QuickShop Hikari for current Spigot/Paper versions; it is the actively-developed fork of the original QuickShop.

  1. 1Stop your server, or have it ready to restart. Always back up your world and plugins folder before adding a new plugin.
  2. 2Download QuickShopHikari.jar (a build matching your server version) and place it in your server's /plugins folder.
  3. 3QuickShop Hikari requires Vault — install that plugin first or QuickShop Hikari will not start.
  4. 4Start the server fully. QuickShop Hikari generates its configuration files on first launch — stop the server, edit them to taste, then start again.
  5. 5Confirm it loaded by checking the console for QuickShop Hikari on startup, or by running one of its commands in-game.

Note: QuickShop Hikari requires Vault and an economy plugin. Drop the jar into /plugins and restart; it generates config where you set the tax rate, shop limits and storage. Players create a shop by left-clicking a chest and entering a price — the floating item display and buy/sell handling are automatic. No sign formatting is involved.

QuickShop Hikari FAQ

How does a player create a QuickShop?

Left-click a chest you own to begin shop creation, then enter the price in chat (or use /qs create). The chest becomes a shop with the item floating above it so buyers can see what is for sale. Other players right-click the shop to buy or sell — no sign formatting needed.

Does QuickShop need an economy plugin?

Yes. QuickShop Hikari moves money through Vault, so you need Vault and an economy plugin installed. The shops cannot transact currency without an economy provider behind them.

What is QuickShop Hikari versus the old QuickShop?

Hikari is the actively-maintained modern fork of the original QuickShop, updated for current versions and with improvements and bug fixes the old version no longer receives. If you are choosing QuickShop today, Hikari is the version to install.

Can I add a tax to shop sales?

Yes. QuickShop supports a configurable tax rate that takes a percentage of each transaction, which acts as a money sink to help control inflation. Set the rate in the config; the tax is applied automatically on sales and the proceeds can be directed as configured.

How do players find shops selling what they want?

They use /qs find <item> to locate nearby shops offering that item. Because each shop also displays its item floating above the chest, browsing a market visually is easy too. This makes finding goods straightforward without a central shop directory.
